Frozen by the Cartel

As she had been going down to the steps to the subway after a late night working at the Venus Foundation, Claire had heard a strange, metallic ringing sound in the air. She took a step, paused, cocked her head. "What is that terrible sou..." Then it struck her: Tiffany had said that sound was the sound of an alarm, which meant someone was committing a robbery!

In less than a minute, the voluptuous form of Ultra Woman was flying over the top of the old Third National Bank of Megapolis. As she flew over the roof of the bank, she saw a van. An armored man was loading boxes from the destroyed back door of the bank as a woman stood beside the van and watched.

"Damnit!" the armored woman said as she saw the beautiful redhead come over the top of the building and begin to descend towards them, "Ultra Woman!" Reaching through the open door windows, she pulled out a strange weapon.

As Claire was a foot off the ground and about to touch down, the Cartel soldier fired the weapon. In the blink of an eye, the mighty Amazon superheroine was instantly frozen, like a statue surrounded by ice that stuck to the ground.

At first in shock, the Cartel woman then smiled. She set down the smoking weapon and walked up to the encased superheroine. "A frozen Ultra Woman on a hot summer's night..."
